Vince Staples

Vince Staples has already proven his stamp in the Hip-Hop scene with numerous hits that keep true to the culture and style of modern West Coast Hip-Hop. The 28 year old rapper has built an amazing career with his unique style that captures the ears of a large majority of Hip-Hop lovers.

Rising in prominence around the 2010’s, Vince Staples appeared alongside other major Hip-Hop acts of the time such as Odd Future, Mike G, Syd the Kyd, and more. Gaining more and more traction with multiple mixtapes featuring huge artists like Schoolboy Q and Mac Miller, Staples went on to make his first studio album Summertime ‘06 in 2015. After his debut album, three more were released with his most recent being a self-titled project Vince Staples that dropped in 2021. With each studio album, Staples re-established himself as a large Hip-Hop act among his audience with successful songs like Big Fish, FUN!, Blue Suede, and many more.

It’s no question that Staples has built a steady career for himself and planted his feet as one of the many pillars that keeps it real in the Hip-Hop scene. However, his journey is still evolving with claims of having the most artistic freedom in his most recent project Vince Staples compared to his previous studio albums. In an article with NPR, Staples states that “when he made [Vince Staples], he felt a kind of artistic freedom he hadn't experienced since his early mixtapes, when there was less pressure on his music career. He says the key to that freedom was a sense of emotional peace — one that allowed him to make the music he wanted to make, instead of adjusting his sound to fit whatever was next in his career.”

Now that it is 2022, Staples is starting the year strong by starting his tour in February. If you’re a Hip-Hop fan, you won’t want to miss out on his live performance. To view his tour dates, click here!
